Not long after my last entry (July 28, 2008 - Over a year ago) I sorta lost my craze over Sonic. Instead, I started playing Mario Kart like a maniac. I ended up joining a Mario Kart clan, called NWFC (Nintendo Wi-Fi Connect) which took up loads of time, so I sort of forgot about this place until now.
In the time away, apart from joining that clan, I've been busy with mock GCSE's (Which I did alright in, especially English, A* and A FTW), went to Centreparcs for a weekend and did a load of activities (not to mention falling off my bike and getting a huge graze on my elbow, haha), and two other things that need more explanation...
Alright, so, did any of you hear about/went to the 'Britain's Best Nintendo Gamer' competition, where you had to play Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit, Mario Kart DS and New Super Mario Bros. in heats across the country? Well, I went to the one in Bluewater, and did pretty well, but, what came as a shocker to me... Was that I got 2nd place overall, which took me through to the Final! By getting through to the final, I had already won every single Nintendo game for a year (That's one heck of a prize), and got a chance to compete against 15 other winners and runner-ups in the final in London. I got to spend an evening in London with £100 spending money for dinner provided by Nintendo, got to spend a night in a fancy London hotel, got to play New Super Mario Bros. Wii before anyone else in the country... I mean really, it was magical. We were split into four heats of four, and you had to win your heat in order to get through to the Final 4, and the winner of that got a £10,000 pound holiday to Japan... I got 2nd in my heat. But it doesn't matter, the experience was absolutely wonderful, and I still got every Ninty game for a year - a massive bonus. The video of the event is meant to be on the Nintendo website/Nintendo Channel on Wii this weekend, so I'll keep a look out, and post a link if so.
The other significant event happened just a week ago. I do Drama for a GCSE, which means that we had to put on a play for a 200+ strong audience. We ended up doing a play called Teechers, which documents the life of a drama teacher. And I played the role... Of a female teacher, called Maureen Whitam (because it's an all boy school, some people had to play girls).
Aaanyways, that's about all I have to say about the past year. Sorry for the absence, I'll try to be more active again.
