She gulped. The stakes were high. Anything could happen now.
It was the final race of the Special Cup, and, as always, the final race – alas, on any final cup – was the infamous Rainbow Road. All she had to do was finish this race in a good position, and the cup was hers. But this was not going to be achieved easily… There were some big names high up the ranks, including the star himself – Mario. Beating her opponents was going to tough.
The racers took up their starting positions, based on the results of the last race. She was placed in the front row, next to Waluigi (Whom was not a very good racer at all; he had won the last race by pure luck of items) and – of course – Mario.
She turned to Mario and wished him good luck, but he did not seem to notice her. He seemed totally focused on the race ahead.
Then, Lakitu appeared, and the countdown began.

She started to push down on the accelerator.

GO!
She, along with many other racers, speeded off into the distance, leaving the others in their dust. She was sure the kart Waluigi was driving had black smoke escaping the pipes, thus leaving him out of the competition before it had even started.
She was currently in third, close behind Mario and Yoshi. By the looks of it, three bananas were behind Yoshi’s kart, and he was slowly moving into position to throw them in front of Mario. However, try as he might, Mario’s reactions were too quick, and he dodged them all. Much to the bore of the spectators, most of the first lap was fairly tedious, except for Luigi coming out of nowhere with a famed Golden Mushroom, but soon after, fell off the track.  
By the start of the second lap, only six racers remained – Mario, Yoshi, Bowser, Wario, Peach and, of course, her. All of the others had either pulled out or had fell off – into safe hands.
Unfortunately, she was in 5th place – only winning to Wario. She needed a good item to do some damage. Thankfully, a few item boxes were coming up after a sharp right turn – which she passed gracefully. Running into the item boxes, she could only hope fir the best…
And that hope paid off. Three red shells were hers. She looked back, and saw that Wario was missing – He had most likely pulled out.  It was time for some action; after all, she wanted that beautiful cup, shining brightly in all glory. She fired the first of her three shells, hoping for a hit. To her annoyance, it crashed into the barrier at full pace, breaking into small parts instantly. She threw her second shot – this time on track – and landed a hit on Yoshi. He let out a shout as she passed, something about catching up. Conveniently, Bowser was right in front of Yoshi, so she only had to move next to the green turtle for the last remaining shell spinning around her to make a hit. He grumbled to himself as she sped ahead.
By the third lap, only she, Mario and Peach remained. Yoshi had decided to drop out, and Bowser had been unlucky enough to fall off the stage just before the line. The competition from here on out would be fierce. She was currently in the lead, with Mario trailing very close behind, and Peach starting to fall back. After passing some item boxes, Mario had got his gloves on a mushroom, and did not think twice about saving it. He sped ahead of her, and having only received a single banana, could not fight back. A loop came, messing up her blonde hair, and things were looking at their worst. But then, the least expected happened, as a Blue Shell flew above her head and onwards to Mario, whom was at the top of the loop. He knew what was going to happen, and as his last words, shouted ‘Mamma Mia!’ as the blue shell hit the heroic plumber. All he could do was fall from the loop into space, speechless.
She looked back, seeing nothing. The line was in front of her. All ended well, as she crossed the finish line, spectators shouting in glee of a good race, fans of her chanting her name, after a hard and long struggle to win.
She was victorious.
